Biogeoscientist Tomo'omi Kumagai

I am investigating the interaction between climate system and biosphere. Forests, for example, that grow as a result of a certain level of precipitation, generate moisture in the atmosphere through evapotranspiration, and this contributes to precipitation levels in that same region.

My research group is focused on interactions of this sort in terrestrial ecosystems, involving the flow of energy and materials through the atmosphere, plants and soil.
